Did you know on average recruiters spend just 7.5 seconds looking at your Resume before deciding if it’s a YES or NO? If you (or the Resume help you hire) can’t communicate your value in that timeframe you’re missing out. Below are 3 tips to do just that!

Start with RELEVANT skills first: One of the main hiring constraints is the required skill-set. You can be the perfect candidate otherwise but if your Resume doesn’t quickly show you have the mandatory skills it goes into the NO pile.
Optimize your Resume for skimmability: No one reads anymore they skim. Take relevant keywords from the job description you’re interested in and strategically sprinkle them throughout your Resume. AND make sure your bullet points are optimized by checking out my article on effective bullet point writing.
Customize your Resume for ICR: In today’s competitive workforce your Resume must be customized for the Industry, Company and Role (ICR) to be effective. Modify your career objective, job titles, and bullet points to appeal to the HR department that’ll be deciding if they want to interview you. (Be sure to insist that your Resume is optimized for the role you’re applying for when looking for Resume help).
